The Executive board of Directors

Shawna Streb - President
Shawna Streb
Shawna Streb grew up in dance studios and on stages. She studied instrumental music and voice in private lessons and while in attendance at California Institute of the Arts. She performed in many recitals, competitions, and musicals, often as lead dancer, vocalist, and actress. Shawna has trained extensively in classical jazz dance with Dennon and Sayhber Rawles and has toured as a performer in and around Los Angeles and New York state. Shawna worked as the Assistant Creative Director for Cobblestone Arts Center under Lorene Benson, which served performing and visual artists with a wide variety of abilities and disabilities. There she learned of her love for working with at-risk teens as she taught dance, vocal, and instrumental music, directed musicals, and did administrative work. She also taught various dance styles at many dance studios including the Deborah MacKay School of Dance. In her desire to share dance and music with wider populations, she earned her B.A. in Psychology, and M.A. in Clinical Psychology.
Shawna still sings, dances, teaches, and choreographs out of Simi Valley with her husband of 25 years and their 4 children (ages 19,19, 13, & 10)-she loves seeing their brilliance as humans and artists and allowing them to push themselves into their dreams. Shawna is inspired by the depths of musical talent and skill she has witnessed in Simi Valley. She looks forward to using music as a means of sharing community, utilizing the collaborative process that she loves experiencing with other artists, working to allow the talent in Simi Valley and beyond to inspire others as it has her.

Royce Cadwell - Secretary
Royce Cadwell

Alongside her musical expertise, Royce has over 20 years of experience as a legal assistant and has served as secretary to her community HOA. Her combined skills in music, organization, and administration make her a valuable asset to the board, contributing to the foundation’s mission of enriching lives through the power of music.

Heather Jennings - Treasurer
Heather Jennings
Heather Jennings grew up in the San Fernando Valley but found herself at “home” in the Simi Valley, surrounded by its natural beauty and amazing sense of community. She has dedicated her entire professional career to the law, but her true passions lie in anything surrounding the arts, having been introduced to music at a very young age. Heather is very excited to be sharing music with other artists as a member of the Simi Valley Orchestra. She combines her legal and financial experience with her heart for sharing music to carry out the tasks necessary of the SVOCF Treasurer. Music speaks to the heart when words fall short and reaches depths of the soul we never knew existed.
